Lenore Malen is an artist and writer who uses the lens of history and humor to examine utopian longings and the sciences and technologies that inform them. Working across diverse media she has explores subjects such as Mesmerism, the social structure of idea and imaginary communities, and recently she has reimagined the hive as human culture in a 3-channel video installation, I Am The Animal, 2011 screened at Wave Hill, NY, Tufts University and upcoming in Fall 2012 at The Mediations Biennale, Poznan, Poland.
Her new work in pre-production explores the mythic origins of the human/ animal and political in theater and mime.
